Thomas Richard Bickford Lambeth was born in 1836 in Gosport, Hampshire, England, and was christened in the Holy Trinity Church there on 16th November 1836. His parents were Richard Lambeth, who was later a noted builder and architect in Launceston, Tasmania and Melbourne, Australia, and Maria Bickford. Richard Lambeth was interred in the Bickford family plot at Melbourne Cemetery, Carlton, Victoria, Australia. Thomas married Mary Ann Luckhurst on 5th September 1866 at the house of her father in Dowling Street, Dunedin. He worked as a builder in Launceston, Tasmania, and later in early Dunedin. Thomas died on 25th August 1880 in Dunedin and was buried here in the cemetery on 27th August 1880. His wife Mary was later buried in the same plot. |
