Mavis Margaret Mary Parsons (1908 – 1943)

Mavis, eldest daughter of Ida and Ernie Parsons, was born on the 30th of December 1908 and little is known about her life. She started school at Spottis Creek and attended the Matakanui School from the 4th of November 1914 until the 1st of March 1926 when she went on to Blacks School.

Mavis never married and she died at the age of 34 years, on April the 17th 1943 and was buried on the 20th of April 1943 in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.. The cause of her death is unknown. She was buried alongside her father.

Otago Daily Times, Wednesday, 21st April 1943 states:

Parsons. On April 17, 1943, at Dunedin, Mavis, dearly loved eldest daughter of Ida and the late Bert Parsons, of 29 Lees Street. “At Rest” Privately interred yesterday. Cole and Son, Funeral Director.
