Dunedin's Buried History

Ada Elizabeth Gallichan was a daughter of Elizabeth Ann, née Hellyer, and Joshua Gallichan. She travelled with them in 1875 from Jersey, in the Channel Islands, via London to Dunedin. They travelled together with Ada's grandparents, Elizabeth and Robert Hellyer, as assisted immigrants on the Waimea. According to the ship's passenger information, Ada was aged 7 years at the time.

Ada Gallichan died on 3rd December 1937, aged 70 years. She is buried here in the cemetery with her parents and sister.
