Robert Ferguson (1851 – 1913) Robert Ferguson was born on 7th May in Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland. His parents were George Ferguson and Sarah Hannah Graham. Robert was a bootmaker and sailed with his parents and siblings from Glasgow aboard the Timaru on 5th January 1875 arriving in Port Chalmers on 6th May 1875. Robert kept a shipboard diary of the voyage on the Timaru. A copy of this diary is held at the Canterbury Museum. Robert married Cassie Crawford Tweedie on 11th November 1882 in Dunedin. He died on 7th April 1913. |
