MACILDOWIE, MARGARET

Margaret MacIldowie (1811-1885)

Margaret MacIldowie was born on 11th September 1811 in Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of James McEwen, woollen manufacturer.

Margaret married Daniel MacIldowie in 1846 in Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland. They had two sons, William and James, and one daughter Agnes.

William and James moved to New Zealand in 1880. Margaret, then aged 73 years, and Agnes joined William and his wife Betsy in Otago in 1884.

Margaret died at her residence, Daddingston, North East Valley Dunedin on 2nd July 1885 aged 74 years.
