William Ernest Gollar (1883-1885)

William, son of William and Charlotte Gollar, was born on the 7th July 1883 at Dunedin.

Little William’s Baptism Certificate shows that he was baptised on the 8th August 1883 at St. Joseph’s Church, Dunedin by Rev. P. Lynch, and his Godmother was Margaret Gollar.
Sadly he died at 2 years of age on the 25th November 1885 of Blood Poisoning at Leith Street, Dunedin.

Although the date on the Headstone reads 1887, cemetery records show that the burial was actually on November 26th 1885 and his baptism records are dated 1883, which makes him 2 years old at the time of his death as stated on the headstone.
